In this episode of The Executive Innovation Show Podcast, Carrie Chitsey and Daniel Miller speak with David Khan and Samantha Moss.

Samantha Moss, LCSW is a therapist at Silver Lake Psychology, a group practice for adults and couples located in Los Angeles. Samantha also works for Lyra Health, a behavioral health/tech company. She provides video therapy to employees from companies including eBay, Lyft, and Uber.

David Khan Ph.D., LPC, LPCS is a family counselor with experience in treating adolescents, relationship issues, addiction issues, depression, anxiety, blended family issues, and working with bi-polar. I am also known for my speaking and training experience in both the corporate and mental health settings.

Listen in on topics discussed during this podcast from both guests such as:

  • Moss tells us why it is important for teen moms to stay with their child in foster care and how it can affect their mental health. By separating the family it can be detrimental for the teen long term.

  • Moss tells us how St. Annes helps teens and their babies stay together. We learn about some of the programs that are helping like: education support, mental health and counseling, day care and other essentials provided for success.

  • Learn more about the role of mental health aftercare and how it plays in the long-term success of teens who have been in group home care.

  • Hear how the mental health of children has been affected by the increase in opioid addiction.

  • Khan discusses how teachers, parents and other authority figures can understand the real signs of youth mental health issues. By having conversations and telling stories you can be more effective than seeing signs in schools.

  • How can mental health professionals remove the roadblocks such as work/school schedules to reduce no show and readmission rates with using technology such as video conferencing for therapy sessions.

  • David Khan discusses why mental health problems and addiction issues go hand in hand among adolescents and teens.
